GAT: light year

A light year, which is a measure of distance, is the distance traversed by light in a vacuum in a year.

Light travels at approximately 300,000 km per second. So in a year, it will travel approximately 9.46x1012 km, or 63,200 times the distance between the Earth and the Sun.
